This morning saw Year 13 students at our Ashington and Bedlington Academy sites celebrate a fantastic set of A level results.
At Ashington Academy, 40% of the year group achieved A* or A grades. The cohort achieved a pass rate of 100%, with many students securing places at top universities including the University of St Andrews, Durham University, Newcastle University and the University of Liverpool. At Bedlington Academy, over 80% of grades were at C or above, with B awarded as the average grade. Impressive grades were achieved in all subject areas which meant many secured their first-choice places at university and college. Read more about top individual performances here.
Speaking of her delight at the results, Jill Traynor, Assistant Head and Sixth Form Lead at Ashington Academy said: “I am incredibly proud of our students. During their time with us, they have worked with dedication to achieve their full potential and are a credit to us, themselves and their families. We wish them the best of luck in their chosen next steps.”
