At NE6 we encourage all students to be involved in charity in whatever way they can. Many students volunteer in the community at places like Scope and the YMCA however every year we also come together to raise money for Children in Need. This forms part of our Active Citizenship programme, where we encourage all Y12 students to complete at least 30 hours of volunteering over their time with us.
Children In Need, as you will know, is a national fundraising campaign supporting a wide range of charities that help children who need extra support for all sorts of reasons. Our Year 12 students organised a number of events to try and raise money and promoted these across the school to staff and students alike. We had a bake sale, a name the bear competition and a 'guess how many sweets are in the jar' game.
The Year 12 students did us proud, and looked great in their high visibility jackets too! Everyone had great fun as a school and raised £222.93.
